Hillary became interested in swimming when she started taking swim lessons at age 7. She began swimming with CRA in 1998 and swam competitively with the team until 2002. She joined the Sheldon High School swim team in 2004 and swam with the team until 2007. In 2009, she joined the Sacramento City College swim team where she primarily competes in breaststroke and backstroke events.
Hillary is extremely well versed with all the swimming strokes, but her favorite stroke since she started swimming is the backstroke.
